Songs of There and Back | International Conference
In the 21st century, we witnessed the consecration, as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (UNESCO), of different Latin American artistic expressions.
In parallel with the recent access to the "old" primary sources, we have realized the intrinsic connection between music on each side of the Atlantic: Fado, Samba, Modinhas, Tango, Flamenco, all these songs circulating between the two shores of this ocean.
With the main aim being the integrated reflection on issues related to the management and good preservation and conservation heritage practices associated with each of these forms of music, this colloquium is a co-production by the Fado Museum and the Ethnomusicology Institute (Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at the New University of Lisbon), with the participation of several researchers from the International Council for Traditional Music (Ibero-American music section)

CANCIONES DE IDA Y VUELTA | CONFERENCIA INTERNACIONAL
En pleno siglo XXI asistimos a la consagración, en el marco del Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad (UNESCO) de diferentes expresiones artísticas del contexto latinoamericano.
En paralelo con el acceso reciente a las “viejas” fuentes primarias vamos comprendiendo la intrínseca conexión que existe entre las músicas de ambos lados del Atlántico: Fado, Samba, Modinhas, Tango, Flamenco, todas estas canciones que circulan entre las dos márgenes de este océano.
Teniendo por objetivo central la reflexión integrada en torno a las cuestiones asociadas a la gestión y a las buenas prácticas de salvaguarda y conservación del patrimonio asociado a cada una de estas expresiones musicales, este Coloquio ha sido organizado en régimen de coproducción por el Museu do Fado y el Instituto de Etnomusicologia (FCSH - Universidade Nova de Lisboa) y cuenta con la participación de varios investigadores del International Council for Traditional Music (núcleo de música iberoamericana).
