In the year that we are commemorating Lisbon Ibero-American Capital of Culture Fado hosts "Outros Fados" in a festive encounter of cultures that have lived together for centuries on the Iberian Peninsula.

A look at the visual arts that represent major the musical expressions of the Iberian Peninsula, the brilliance of their metamorphoses and cycles takes us back through images to the powerful immanence of Fado and Flamenco as works of art of a community that knew how to keep its roots alive, without giving up the disquieting anxiety of those permanently exploring the world.By putting forward multiple interpretations, questions and affinities, the itinerary of this voyage travels through 19th century representations of Fado and Flamenco until it arrives at contemporary plastic arts, in an exhibition in which different gazes from different generations summon us to the longstanding and complicit dialogue between performing arts and visual arts.

Columbano Bordalo Pinheiro, José Malhoa, Almada Negreiros, Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso, Eduardo Viana, Leonel Moura, João Abel Manta, João Vieira, Júlio Pomar and foreign artists such as Nicholas Delerive, Manuel Bejarano, Angel Maria Cortellini Hernandez, Alfred Dehodenq, Francisco Escribano Liñán, Juan García Ramos or Francesco Vezzoli witness the dialogue between the performing arts and the visual arts of the 19th-21st centuries.
