series Trovas Antigas, Saudade Louca – Stories of Fado told by Carlos do Carmo

As part of the candidacy of fado to UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, RTP and EGEAC/Museu do Fado produced the TV series Trovas Antigas, Saudade Louca – Stories of Fado told by Carlos do Carmo, that was public presented on the past September 17 in the Museu do Fado.

 

In this session, the present watched a premiere projection of the TV series first episode, titled Roots, Nasceu assim, cresceu assim, chama-se Fado.

 

 

With original screenplay by Rui Vieira Nery and authored by Carlos do Carmo, Rui Vieira Nery, José Pracana and Sara Pereira, the presentation of this series, directed by Fernando Ávila, was marked by an unprecedented broadcast of the historical dimension of the Fado universe on the light of sources and results of recent research.

 

The six episodes that make the thematic series Trovas Antigas, Saudade LoucaStories of Fado told by Carlos do Carmo, from Roots (episode 1), Places (episode 2), Fados and Fadistas (episode 3) and the Poets (episode 4), to Guitars (episode 5) and the newer courses in Pilgrimages (episode 6), will broadcast on Fridays at 9h00pm, on RTP1, from next September 24.
