Inês de Vasconcellos

(N. 18 December, 1989)

Inês de Vasconcellos is one of the most surprising and undoubtedly one of the most talented Fado interpreters. Her powerful voice, with a markedly Fado timbre, her impeccable tuning and interpretative skills have garnered her numerous accolades from various personalities.

“Amplexo” is her debut album.

Produced by Ricardo Cruz (responsible for the production of dozens of highly successful albums in the careers of António Zambujo, Ana Moura or Cristina Branco) and edited by Museu do Fado Discos, this CD has 11 original themes of unusual and lyrical and musical richness.

Accompanying Inês in this adventure are four excellent performers: Luís Guerreiro on the Portuguese Guitar, Bernardo Viana and Luís Pontes on the guitars and Ricardo Cruz on the Bass. The recordings - which took place at Casa da Levada, in Vila Real and at Pé de Vento Studios -, mixing and mastering were done by Fernando Nunes.

Inês de Vasconcellos is undoubtedly an artist who breaks barriers and breaks taboos. Her debut album transports us to the most ethereal and aesthetic in music, without losing contact with the deeper roots of Fado.
