FADO 1910 at Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes

On the 25th June 2010 the Museu do Fado opened at SNBA (Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes) the exhibition entitled FADO 1910, with a performance by the fadista Lina Rodrigues, acomppained by the portuguese guitar of José Pracana and the guitar of Armando Figueiredo.

The exhibition Fado 1910, dedicated to Fado in the Republican context, will be opened to the public until the end of August.

Besides the body of plastic arts, printed documentation, fonograms and musical instruments, exhibited in SNBA, the presentation is extended to Museu do Fado’s temporary exhibition showroom, where the visitor can enjoy an audiovisual approach where several studies and paintings produced by José Malhoa for the creation of the famous Fado from 1940 as well as the short movie, Direct by Augusto Fraga in 1947, where Amália Rodrigues sings “Fado Malhoa” (José Galhardo - Frederico Valério), in a recreation of the painting itself.
